Do You Worry?
“If you ask what the single most important key to longevity is I’d say it is avoiding worry, stress and tension.” – George F. Burns
When you catch yourself worrying, think back to the last time something you worried about happened. I bet 95% of the things you worried about in the past didn’t happen. This shows that worry is illusory.
Worrying is never useful; it clouds your thoughts and drains your energy; it triggers a stress response and reduces your capacity to handle urgent and vital issues.
As Thulie, my South African friend, puts it, “If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying; if you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?” Hmmm.
