Retreat, to Advance
“Nowhere can a man find a quieter or more untroubled retreat than in his own soul.” – Marcus Aurelius
In military terms, retreat means tactical withdrawal, especially when an advance is not profitable – to assess performance and prepare for the next phase of the encounter.
Even the Creator retreated to assess His creation and said: “Behold, it was good.”
Do you sometimes withdraw for critical self-assessment necessary for advancement, or are you just plodding on?
Whatever you do, always pause in retreat; you not only gain inspiration but energy and speed – a retreat is sometimes the best form of an advance.
Good Morning!
……………
Did you know? – The little struggles of daily life less stress those who purposefully set out to relax their minds and bodies such as during meditation.
Just like in war fare retreat is NOT to be mistaken for surrender .
So also in real life…
That is the best way to live a successful life, if the front is very rough then retreat to plan on another way.
To retreat is to gather momentum for a powerful advancement.
Thanks for this nuggets of wisdom.
